Working Class Body

An artistic research project on the (in)visibility of social classes in the field of performing arts. Drawing on his personal and artistic experience, Romuald Krezel focuses in it on how the class background shapes the aesthetics of artistic practices, their discursive levels and working methodologies. It explores and develops political and choreographic tools and practices that build upon experiences of being socialized in a so-called ‘lower class’ milieu. In that way, the project aims to commemorate artist’s mother’s work in a grocery store during the communist era in Poland.
